The Information Services department within Abanco- a mixture of software engineers, systems architects, system test engineers, operations technicians, and management. The majority of our software development team is focused on mobile handheld point-of-sale applications, payment processing applications, internal business process applications, and network infrastructure.
Job Description
DISCIPLINE EMPHASIS: Desktop/Web/Mobile applications with Microsoft Technologies
Work as part of a team in the development, maintenance, and management of a mission critical database backend systems that support our core production products and in-house software development. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, design, development, integration testing, quality, capacity planning, monitoring, performance optimization, maintenance, security, reporting, and third tier 24x7 on call support. .
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 3-5 years experience as a DBA with a mission critical system using Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005
- 3-5 years experience with the following:
- MS SQL Server Log Shipping
- MS SQL Server Clustering
- MS SQL Server Configuration
- MS SQL Server Management
- Performance tuning of large high availability data systems
- SNMP Traps
- Database Security
- Backup and recovery
- Stored Procedure development
- Data migration
- Indexing schemes
- Database partitioning
- Crystal Reports
- Strong debugging skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a cross-functional team
- Ability to meet commitments with a "can do" attitude
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Skills from this section are a plus, but not required):
- Microsoft Certification MCDBA
- Experience with What's Up Gold monitoring tools
- Experience in the payment processor business
- Experience in mobile data
- Experience in a CMM level 3 or higher organization
