Senior Management


 

Abanco's core leadership team has been instrumental in developing electronic transaction technology for over 20 years. Much of what the industry relies on was either developed or tested for market acceptance by this team and their customers.

Tracy A. Metzger

President and CTO

Mr. Metzger holds a degree in Telecommunications Management from DeVry University. Mr. Metzger was employed as a systems consultant from 1986 through 1991 with a Chicago-based consulting firm. In 1991, he joined BankCard America Corporation as the Director of Management Information Systems until 1998 when the company was acquired by Concord EFS, currently First Data Corporation. Following the acquisition Mr. Metzger was promoted to vice president of technology strategy for Concord EFS. Mr. Metzger participated in four acquisitions during his time with Concord, mostly working on post merger management activities and consolidation of technical resources within the growing organization. In 2000, Mr. Metzger joined Gate Gourmet/Dobbs International Services as CIO having global responsibility for information systems in over 30 countries. In 2002, Mr. Metzger co-founded Abanco International, LLC as President and CTO.

Bill Abraham

Vice President, Sales

Bill brings to Abanco over twenty-five years of senior sales management leadership experience in both North America and International Sales Operation. Prior to Abanco, Bill was Senior Vice President of World-Wide Sales for General Data Comp, where he managed the $100M broadband and network solutions division. Focusing on sales with Federal, VAR, Channel and Alliance partners, Bill's group successfully developed and managed teams at a regional and national level that implemented large complex broadband, wifi, software and network solutions worldwide. Mr. Abraham holds a degree from Illinois State University and attendant University of Munich.

James Edgell

Vice President, Information Systems

James joins Abanco with twenty plus years experience in Software Application development, including seventeen years experience in mobile wireless data. He has served in managing the development of Motient's nationwide messaging system that provided the foundation of the first BlackBerry wireless network. At Motorola, James oversaw multiple successful software development efforts in the public safety, federal, and national security sectors, his final project at Motorola included complete responsibility of all enterprise applications for the Motorola Q project. James holds a BS (suma cum laude) in Computer Science from Northeastern Illinois University.

Yasser Abu Nasr

Product Manager

Yassar served in Motorola for the last seven years contributing to multiple projects: Lead the development and implementation of the Master Test Plan, Test Case creation and implementation, and the Master Load Plan in Motorola's System Integrations Test (SIT); SIT is a division of over 200 resources. After joining the Motorola's Wireless Data Solutions Engineering division, he led Configuration Management, Risk Management, Daily Bug Scrubs, Change Control Board (CCB) meetings, and participated as the point of contact to SIT for the Astro product team. Motorola Astro voice and data radios are used by the Public Safety, FBI and the National Security Association (NSA) and foreign governments. Finally, Yasser managed Testing, Software Development, Configuration Management, and third party Independent Software Vendors (ISV) on the Motorola Q project.

Peter Qiu

Lead Architect

Peter has over 11 years experience in Software Application Development and holds Microsoft Certification. He served as lead developer at Motient where he was a key contributor for the first nationwide wireless BlackBerry messaging network. Peter then joined Motorola to design a GPS network monitoring system for the High Performance Data (HPD) wireless systems used by Public Safety, FBI and the National Security Association (NSA). Parallel projects included a complete mobile diagnostic system used by field technicians to diagnose issues in the HPD modems in real time. While working on the Motorola Q, 'Project M' (to be released), Peter designed and developed a new user interface presentation layer to differentiate the Motorola Q from other Microsoft Mobile phones. In parallel, he also developed wireless data network diagnostic tools and a currency converter utility that will be deployed on millions of Motorola Qs.
