The Challenge
Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) operated a "proof of payment" fare collection system; a system that required passengers to have a valid ticket prior to boarding and to retain the ticket until leaving the station area at the final destination.. A method that was unattractive and inconvenient for the public and operationally unproductive for ACE.
The Solution
Abanco's MDT In-Transit Terminal Services (ITTS) solution; a wireless payment processing solution that allows for timelier and more streamlined services. The "next generation" fare collection technology that allows for remote sales and inventory tracking, validates tickets quickly, reconciles inventory daily, creates passenger manifests, and conducts on-board retailing.
